You’ve all heard it…Hillary, Barack, John, John, and Bill all have put together their Presidential “exploratory” committees. The roumor has it that the next Presidency can be bought for a measily $100,000,000. Yep you see it right, 9 figures! What a crock. I guess Hillary started this mess by stating that she wasn’t going to use any public dollars (generally that amounts to $85M for a Presidential Election). That’s what we’ve succumbed to. Allowing our “leaders” to buy their way into the office.

Never will you get a farmer, soldier, small business owner to serve a federally elected office. My opinion, true, but come on think about it. Bush bought his election and the Democrats aren’t any better. Let’s put this in context…if the aforementioned “5″ each raise $100M, that is half a billion dollars.

How many troops are in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places? Are they being compensated enough for protecting our Constitution?! (By the way, I believe that every elected official should have to swear by that document when they are elected…but that’s another diatribe.) 490 days from home and only $1000 per month for their INVOLUNTARY extension. Do people even care? For you guys reading this, know that I and many others do care. I plan on holding our “leaders” toes to the fire… After the last election in November, 2006, I was going to write a bit…I held off to gather my thoughts. I have some questions for any who are reading this:

When you vote, are you voting for the right person, or just the least bad of the worst choice?

Since there are 300 million people in this country. Only 537 individuals are elected to federal office (President, VP, Senate and House of Representatives). Are these 537 the best people for the job? Are they the most qualified to lead this country? Are they the one-tenthousanth of one percent that have achieved the right to lead? Hell, do they even have the capability to lead?

Or have they bought their way in?! Think of these points the next time you vote. Ask your Senators and Representatives if they feel our service men and women are being treated with respect and dignity. Ask them what they are going to do to compensate those that have served this Country. Ask…ASK!
